This RN position on the Medicine MICU/SDU pathway offers mentorship, shadowing, and targeted learning in critical care, focusing on ICU and step-down practice readiness.
Works under supervision, assessing and planning patient care, coordinating interventions, and evaluating outcomes.
Provides supervision to non-RN staff, functions as a charge nurse, and may cover other units as needed.
Demonstrates expertise in neuro patient care, airway management, ventilator care, and neuro procedures, including trach care and halo braces.
Supports patient education, acts as a preceptor, and adheres to department policies.
Qualifications include a graduate of an accredited nursing school, CT RN license, BLS certification, with BSN preferred. Proficiency in electronic records and internet research is required.
