Position: Registered Nurse, Breast Navigator
Role Summary: Acts as a key member of a multidisciplinary team, advocating, educating, and counseling breast disease patients. Responsible for coordinating comprehensive, patient-centered care, serving as a clinical resource, and facilitating communication among patients, families, and healthcare providers. Provides expert nursing care, education, and support throughout the treatment continuum, ensuring seamless care delivery and patient understanding of disease management, treatment options, and survivorship. Engages in research, quality improvement, and policy development to enhance practice and patient outcomes. Represents the organization in community health education and promotes early detection and prevention initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
- Provide age-appropriate care, addressing physical and psychological needs.
- Implement nurse navigator model, delivering patient education and support.
- Serve as the primary contact for breast cancer patients and coordinate tests, appointments, and treatments.
- Act as liaison among patients, families, and healthcare teams to ensure coordinated care.
- Support patients with decision-making and connect them to supportive services and clinical trials.
- Mentor staff, review policies, and develop educational materials and clinical pathways.
- Participate in research and quality initiatives, promoting evidence-based practice.
- Represent the organization in community health events and staff education.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (Master’s preferred)
- Minimum 1 year clinical oncology experience
- RN license in Illinois
- Certified Breast Care Nurse (CBCN) certification required
- CPR certification required
- Preferred: Advanced Oncology Certified Clinical Nurse Specialist (AOCNS)
- Strong problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills
