The hourly wage range for this position is $26.67–$37.65. This range reflects the base salary for this position.

Key Accountabilities
- Ensures the accurate processing of wage and other compensation payments to exempt and nonexempt employees.
- Ensures accurate and timely processing of payroll transactions including status changes, transfers, new hires, and terminations
- Responsible for keeping the payroll and Time and Attendance systems up to date with changes.
- Ensures proper processing of payroll deductions for taxes, benefits, garnishments, charitable contributions, and other deductions.
- Ensure accurate tracking, accruals, and usage of time off balances and conducts periodic audits of time off records.
- Issues, or reissues, physical or replacement checks or direct deposits due to payroll adjustments, ACH returns, or final discharge.
- Ensure employee earnings are reported to Public Employees Retirement Association (PERA) on a biweekly basis following the posting of payroll.
- Processes on-going 457b retirement enrollments and deduction changes. Provides payroll withholding data bi-weekly after payroll is posted.
- Facilitate audits by providing records and documentation to auditors. Completes other survey data as requested.
- Recommends and implements continual improvements in the efficiency of department and services performed.
- Maintains compliance with federal and state regulations concerning employment.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Vocational/technical training with 3 years of related experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities in payroll.
- Knowledge of payroll systems, processes and procedures.
- Knowledge of hospitals’ personnel/payroll practices and procedures.
- Ability to make procedural decisions
- Skill in the use of time and attendance systems.
- Effective interpersonal and communication skills, and the ability to work effectively with employees and managers.
- Ability to analyze and solve problems
- Ability to audit and maintain financial records
- Knowledge of mathematics
- 80 hours per two-week pay period
- Monday through Friday, core hours of 8:00 AM–5:00 PM
