What are the responsibilities and job description for the Academic Integrity Coordinator position at Northern VA Community College?
The Academic Integrity Coordinator designs and delivers engaging educational programs, workshops, and resources for students, faculty, and administrators on academic integrity expectations, prevention strategies, and response processes.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Supports faculty in understanding and navigating the academic integrity reporting process
- Assists with case creation and closure
- Helps ensure that records are accurate, confidential, and maintained in compliance with FERPA and institutional policy.
- Assists with other initiatives that strengthen NOVA’s academic integrity program as assigned by their supervisor, the Associate Director of Academic Integrity.
- Commitment to student-centered practices
- Assist in tracking trends related to academic integrity cases and education efforts
- Provide support in operational and academic integrity case
May be required to perform other duties as assigned. May be required to assist the agency or state government generally in the event of an emergency declaration by the Governor.
- Ability to deliver engaging public presentations and communicate complex information clearly to diverse audiences
- Demonstrated ability to handle highly confidential and sensitive information with discretion and professionalism
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to collaborate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders, such as faculty, deans, associate deans, students, and staff
- Ability to promote, uphold, and apply principles of academic integrity in collaboration with faculty, students, and academic leadership
- Ability to demonstrate attention to detail
- Experience handling confidential information and sensitive communications
- Experience in program or project management
- Experience delivering workshops or trainings and developing educational resources
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite
- Experience teaching in higher education or a similar educational setting
- Experience developing educational content or programming in a higher education setting
- Experience with case management systems (e.g., Maxient)
- Experience applying FERPA practices in an educational setting
