Northern Pines Mental Health Center is seeking a Accounts Receivable Specialist to join our Finance team. This is a Full-time position. Hours will typically include daytime, weekday shifts.
Essential Functions include:
- Review all insurance denials on EOB’s, ERA’s, and rejections, taking action to resolve each according to procedures which includes calling insurance payers, calling clients, appealing to insurance payers, researching online, and assigning tasks to other NPMH employees if necessary.
- Review and work on outstanding claims in EHR system according to procedures.
- Assist clients with billing related inquiries.
- Review insurance payer plans within EHR system for accuracy according to current procedures and provide education and retraining when necessary.
- Review and analyze insurance payment rates for accuracy, taking corrective actions with third party insurance payers when necessary.
- Review outstanding balances and take appropriate action including consulting with insurance payers, consulting with providers, send to collection agency.
- Routine system reporting duties to continually enhance and audit EHR.
- Provides duty coverage for staff leaves and vacations.
- Other aspects of the collections/aging/billing process.
Qualifications include:
- High School Diploma or approved equivalent combination of education and experience
- At least one year of experience in a billing/ financial or mental health or related field
- Associates Degree or higher in Medical Billing or related field of study is preferred
- Valid MN Driver's License
Compensation & Benefits include:
- A starting wage of $24.00/ hour
