SUMMARY: Reporting to the Division Chair for Agriculture and Biological Science, this is a teaching position predominately on the Tonkawa campus, but could require teaching on other campuses. Teaching areas could include General Biology, Microbiology, Human Anatomy, Human Nutrition, Medical Terminology, and corresponding laboratory sections. The position requires teaching in a variety of teaching modalities, which may include virtual (Zoom ®) and online, as well as traditional classroom and laboratory settings. Other duties will include advising and committee responsibilities and may include student club sponsorship.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities Include:
- Teach undergraduate courses, which may include General Biology, Microbiology, Human Anatomy, Human Nutrition, and Medical Terminology and corresponding laboratory sections.
- Develop and deliver engaging lesson plans.
- Effectively communicate to students.
- Guide and support student learning through assignments and assessments.
- Maintain a positive and professional classroom environment.
- Guide students through the advising process.
- Participate on committees as assigned.
- Other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: A successful applicant will have a Master's degree with a minimum of 18 graduate credit hours in the relevant field (Biology, Microbiology, or Medical Sciences, preferred). Previous teaching experience is preferred. Applications will be considered until the position is filled. Subject to satisfactory Fair Credit Reporting Act Disclosure which includes a criminal background check.
