What are the responsibilities and job description for the Substitute Instructor position at Full-time Programs?
Department: Full-Time Programs
Reports To: Executive Director
SUMMARY: The substitute will assume the day-to-day responsibilities during the absence of the regular classroom instructor. Substitute employees are employed on an as needed basis and are not guaranteed a set number of hours / days.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Maintains a safe classroom environment conducive to effective learning
Maintains professionalism during the supervision of students
Applies all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, materials, equipment and facilities
Ability to work with other staff members
Keep all students in the classroom under supervision at all times
Ability to be flexible and prepared to monitor different education levels or subject areas
Ensure that district policies are observed during all activities
Be familiar with fire exits, fire drill procedures, severe storm and tornado warning procedures
Take attendance in accordance with school policy
Maintain confidentiality as defined by the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA)
Education: High School Diploma or GED required
Skills: Must be able to follow directions and have the ability to establish effective working relationships with staff and students. Ability to maintain effective classroom management strategies.
Salary Information: $25.00 / hour
