Northern Metal Products is an ISO 9001/2015 certified manufacturer of custom solutions for both the Retail and OEM industries. Founded in 1959, NMP is a private, financially sound, and growing company with diverse capabilities fabricating wire, sheet metal, tubing, and wood. We are currently seeking an experienced, customer-focused individual to join our team in St. Cloud, MN.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Professional communication with customers by phone or email. Proactively communicate order status and delivery information, respond to customer requests, communication regarding quality issues or concerns, and general day-to-day customer activities.
- Process new and repeat orders in a timely and effective manner. This includes active review and updates of changes in dates requested by the customer or internal production requests.
- Review the details of the purchase order and its terms and conditions to verify all purchase order requirements will be met. All discrepancies need to be professionally communicated to the customer and followed-up for resolution.
- Identifies, coordinates and communicates project deliverables, milestones and required tasks to meet customer's due date.
- Act as the customer liaison within Northern Metal to communicate customer needs and requirements to internal departments as needed.
- Work closely with production and purchasing departments communicating current production status activities and order changes to ensure on-time delivery.
Education/Experience Requirements:
- Minimum of 2 years internal customer service experience preferably in a manufacturing setting.
- Highly proficient in MS Office programs including Excel, Word and Outlook.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including basic business writing and professionalism.
- Ability to think quickly and problem solve with limited supervision.
- Very high attention to detail
- Ability to work with numbers and basic math.
- Excellent customer service skills; helpful, courteous and friendly.
- Project coordination experience.
