Northern Metal Products is seeking a 2nd Shift CNC Laser Set-Up/Operator.
Northern Metal Products is a manufacturer of custom solutions for both the Retail and OEM industries. Founded in 1959, NMP is a private, financially sound, and growing company with diverse capabilities fabricating wire, sheet metal, tubing, and wood.
This position would be responsible for daily set-up and operation of sheet metal lasers and tube lasers.
Responsibilities:
- Set up and operate sheet metal lasers and tube lasers.
- Ability to work with closes tolerances.
- Experience with CNC controls.
- Follow all safety rules and regulations.
- Maintain work areas and equipment in a clean and orderly condition.
- Must be willing to accept and receive frequent supervision and assistance with regards to all of the essential duties and responsibilities.
- Follow all company policies and procedures.
- Will be required to perform other duties as requested, directed or assigned.
Requirements:
- Able to understand and execute basic written and verbal instructions given in English.
- Read/interpret drawings and shop papers.
- Ability to accurately read and measure with standard measuring devices, such as calipers, micrometers, height, and radius gages.
- Mechanical aptitude and attention to detail—able to spot and correct issues before they become problems.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative production team
2nd shift hours: 3:30pm – 12:00am Monday-Friday OR 3:30pm – 2:00am Monday-Thursday
Required Experience:
Minimum of 2 years CNC set-up/adjustment experience; loading programs, adjusting part offsets, adjusting tool offsets and adjusting programs.
