Job Title: Sheet Metal Shop Team Lead

Position Summary
The Sheet Metal Shop Team Lead is responsible for overseeing daily shop floor operations within the sheet metal fabrication department. This role combines hands-on fabrication work with leadership responsibilities to ensure production goals, quality standards, and safety requirements are consistently met.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Supervision
- Lead, coordinate, and support a team of sheet metal fabricators and machine operators.
- Assign daily work based on production schedules and priorities.
- Monitor workflow to ensure deadlines are met.
- Serve as the first point of contact for shop floor questions and issue resolution.
Production & Technical Duties
- Read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and work orders.
- Set up and operate fabrication equipment (press brakes, shears, CNC punch, plasma tables, rollers, etc.).
- Assist with complex fabrication tasks when needed.
- Ensure proper material handling and minimize scrap.
Quality Control
- Verify finished products meet specifications and quality standards.
- Conduct in-process inspections.
- Address rework and corrective actions as necessary.
Safety & Compliance
- Enforce OSHA and company safety policies.
- Promote a clean and organized work environment (5S practices).
- Conduct basic safety meetings or tool-box talks as required.
Training & Development
- Train and mentor new hires and junior fabricators.
- Provide performance feedback to management.
- Support cross-training initiatives.
Qualifications
Required:
- 5 years of sheet metal fabrication experience.
- 1–2 years of leadership or lead experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong blueprint reading skills.
- Experience with press brake setup and forming.
- Solid understanding of fabrication tolerances and quality standards.

Monday thru Thursday 6:00 am - 3:30 pm
Friday 6:00 am - 11:00am
Salary : $30 - $45
