Job Summary
This position coordinates academic advising services to students seeking to transfer to Northeastern State University.
MAJOR DUTIES
Assists the Registrar with the development and management of a web-based transfer course guide.
Develops and maintains a prospective transfer student web site.
Collaborates with Coordinator of Orientation & Community Engagement to develop and implement a transfer orientation program including and web-based component for distance learners.
Manages the Transfer Student Services office on their respective campus.
Collaborate with academic units to update and maintain 2 2 agreements with community college partners.
Provides transfer intake scheduling assistance and advising assistance to college Academic Advisors.
Collaborates with Admissions and Recruitment to establish a transfer recruitment communication plan.
Advises students on general education requirements, academic majors and minors, and other related matters.
Engages in student recruitment activities.
Develops and maintains relationships with prospective transfer students, Community College staff, university staff, and members of the community.
Provides information to prospective transfer students regarding admissions, financial aid, counseling services, and other related university resources and processes.
Attends and assists with regular departmental and University Advising Center training sessions and other professional development activities.
Ensures that students are familiar with the university catalog and other relevant advisement information.
Reviews and updates student information in the BANNER system as appropriate.
Processes transfer credit evaluations; prepares degree audits.
Assesses program effectiveness.
Committee work as assigned.
Performs related duties.

SUPERVISORY CONTROLS
The Transfer Coordinator reports to the University Advising Executive Director. The supervisor assigns work in terms of general instructions. The supervisor spot-checks completed work for compliance with procedures, accuracy, and the nature and propriety of the final results.

Guidelines include the university catalog, Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act requirements, ORSHE requirements, and CBT Standards of Professional Behavior. These guidelines require judgment, selection and interpretation in application.

The work consists of varied academic advising duties. Frequent interruptions contribute to the complexity of the position.
The purpose of this position is to academic advising to students wishing to transfer to the university. Success in this position contributes to the recruitment and academic success of university students.

Contacts are typically to provide services, to give or exchange information, to resolve problems, or to motivate or influence persons.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS/ WORK ENVIRONMENT
The work is typically performed while sitting at a desk table or while intermittently sitting, standing or stooping. The employee occasionally lifts light objects.
The work is typically performed in an office.
SUPERVISORY AND MANAGEMENT RESPONSIBILITY
This position has direct supervision over assigned personnel (secretary and student employees).
Minimum Qualifications
Knowledge and level of competency commonly associated with the completion of a baccalaureate degree in a course of study related to the occupational field.
Sufficient experience to understand the basic principles relevant to the major duties of the position, usually associated with the completion of an apprenticeship/internship or having had a similar position for one to two years.
Possession of or ability to readily obtain a valid driver’s license issued by the State of Oklahoma for the type of vehicle or equipment operated.
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree preferred.
Annual salary $38,112.00 with excellent benefits, including generous leave time.
