What are the responsibilities and job description for the Patient Access Supervisor SMH - Full Time position at NORTHEASTERN HEALTH SYSTEM?
Maintains established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance program, safety, environmental and infection control standards.
Ensures that department complies with hospital established policies, quality assurance programs, safety, environmental, and infection control policies and procedures.
Selects, trains/orients and assigns department staff (either directly or through subordinate supervisor). Develops standards of performance, evaluates performance, and initiates or makes recommendations for personnel actions.
Develops department goals and objectives, and established and implements policies and procedures for department operation.
Ensures that the registration function runs smoothly and efficiently by overseeing operations, scheduling staff and expediting problems.
Reviews hospital admissions to ensure accurate financial and biographical data and documentation have been obtained and properly entered into the computer and/or hospital records.
Coordinates with medical, nursing and accounting staff to ensure appropriate placement of patients and compliance with third party payors and other regulations.
Maintains professional growth and development through seminars, workshops, and professional affiliations to keep abreast of latest trends in field of expertise.
Maintains department records, reports, and files as required.
Participates in educational programs and in-service meetings.
Reviews Registration Department operations to ensure compliance with JCAHO/CMS.
Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.
Minimum Education - High School
Management Experience - Excellent human relations and oral/written communication skills, Management experience in hospital/health care environment, Supervisory experience preferred
