What are the responsibilities and job description for the Lab Courier - PRN position at NORTHEASTERN HEALTH SYSTEM?
Schedule - Saturday and Sunday approximately 3 hours per day. Courier run to Sallisaw and Urgent Care. Route needs to be completed before noon.
Position Summary
Picks up and delivers specimens from laboratory accounts using the hospital vehicle.
Position Accountabilities
Maintains established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance program, safety, environmental and infection control standards.
Maintains required records, reports, and statistics as directed.
Labels and records all test tubes, logs procedures in a logbook, schedules procedures as necessary.
Assists in care and maintenance of laboratory work area and furnishings/equipment.
Maintains good relations with patients, medical staff and other departments as well as other hospitals that use services.
Participates in educational programs and in-service meetings.
Attends meetings as required.
Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.
Minimum Education - Less than High School
Preferred Education - High school or equivalent
Preferred Experience - Related healthcare experience
Preferred Certification/Registration - Registered Phlebotomist
