A leading investment management firm is seeking a highly effective Manager, HR and Recruiting to serve as the senior executor and operational integrator for HR across a hedge fund platform and its portfolio of newly established companies. This individual will act as the right hand to the Head of HR and will be responsible for building, managing, and continuously enhancing the firm’s HR operating model across multiple entities.
This is a hands-on leadership role aligned with the firm’s execution-focused culture. The Manager will oversee core people operations, manage the recruiting function, and directly lead searches for high-priority or complex roles requiring strong judgment and speed.

Key Responsibilities
HR Operations & Infrastructure
- Oversee and elevate core HR operations across the investment platform and its portfolio companies
- Develop, formalize, and refine key people processes, including onboarding, offboarding, performance management cycles, and compliance
- Maintain ownership of HR systems and data accuracy, ensuring scalability and operational rigor
- Translate evolving organizational needs into sustainable HR infrastructure capable of supporting multiple entities at varying stages of growth
HR Team Partnership & Execution Integration
- Partner closely with the Head of HR to convert people strategy and organizational design into actionable implementation plans
- Act as the operational integrator across HR initiatives, aligning priorities and ensuring coordinated execution
- Establish structured operating rhythms, dashboards, timelines, and reporting mechanisms to provide visibility into headcount, hiring progress, and HR performance
- Proactively identify risks or execution gaps and drive timely resolution
- Support the development of HR team members by providing clarity, structure, and accountability
- Elevate overall execution standards and operational discipline across the HR function
Recruiting & Talent Delivery
- Design and implement a consistent recruiting framework across the fund and its portfolio companies
- Personally lead searches for high-impact or complex roles in partnership with senior leadership
- Advise business leaders on role scoping, interview structure, and hiring decisions
- Ensure recruiting processes are efficient, disciplined, and aligned with firm standards to support high-caliber hiring
Qualifications
- 8–12 years of progressive HR experience, preferably within hedge funds, private investment firms, or fast-growing, multi-entity organizations
- Proven experience building and operating scalable HR systems and processes
- Comfortable balancing hands-on execution with senior-level partnership
- Highly organized, detail-driven, and systems-oriented
- Low-ego, high-ownership mindset with the ability to serve as a trusted second-in-command
- Strong judgment and discretion in high-performance, confidential environments
- Effective coach who brings structure and calm to fast-moving teams

Compensation
The base salary for this New York–based position ranges from $200,000 to $250,000, depending on experience, skills, and scope of responsibility.
