Our client is seeking a hands-on, strategic IT leader to build and lead the internal technology function as the organization's first dedicated IT hire. This role combines IT strategy, systems administration, cybersecurity oversight, vendor management, help desk support, and project leadership in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute the IT strategy, roadmap, and annual budget
- Administer core technology platforms, including Microsoft 365, Entra ID, SharePoint, Teams, Intune, and Exchange Online
- Provide end-user support and serve as the primary point of contact for IT issues
- Manage relationships with outsourced IT providers and technology vendors
- Partner with cybersecurity leadership to strengthen security controls, incident response, and compliance efforts
- Maintain IT policies, documentation, asset inventories, and audit readiness
- Support AI tool governance, administration, and adoption
- Lead technology projects, including infrastructure upgrades, identity management improvements, and process automation
- Oversee business continuity, disaster recovery, backup testing, and recovery procedures
- Support business applications, user onboarding/offboarding, and continuous process improvement
Qualifications
- 8–12 years of progressive IT experience, including systems administration, end-user support, and leadership responsibilities
- Experience managing IT budgets, vendors, and outsourced service providers
- Strong expertise in Microsoft 365 technologies and identity/access management
- Solid understanding of cybersecurity best practices and compliance requirements
- Experience supporting executive-level users
- Strong project management, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Experience with public company environments, SOX controls, or ERP platforms is a plus
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience; relevant certifications preferred
