Summary
The purpose of this position is to lead a crew of 6-10 personnel with vehicles and equipment in maintaining the Agency’s landscape assets (trees, bushes, etc.) along an assigned Tollway and ensuring the roadway meets the Agency’s visual standards. This is accomplished by inspecting landscape work performed along the roadway, supervising, and coordinating crew landscape maintenance and repair activities, ensuring all tools and supplies are available, providing instruction and training, assisting with emergency events, and maintaining maintenance repair records. To accomplish these tasks, a comprehensive knowledge of all aspects related to landscape is required. Other duties include responding to weather-related emergencies and acting in the absence of the supervisor. This is a designated Essential Employee position as defined in the NTTA Employee Handbook. An essential employee is one whose attendance is required to maintain agency operations during an emergency or inclement weather situation.
Starting Rate: $25/hourly
Retention Bonus: $2,000

Responsibilities
- Monitors landscape assets and ensures maintenance and repairs are accomplished utilizing accepted practices.
- Ensures tasks meet productivity goals by providing counseling and coaching, recommending solutions to maintenance demands, and assisting with scheduling maintenance with minimal materials and costs.
- Meets technical requirements by reviewing and updating staff on requirements, inspecting and planning repairs, determining materials to be used, planning backfill requirements, and maintaining and updating knowledge.
- Completes administrative tasks by generating work orders, planning and scheduling tasks, generating reports and cost analyses, scheduling and documenting time and labor costs, monitoring crew progress, and assisting with appraisal and progress reports.
- Monitors safety and training by identifying needs and current skill levels, planning and coordinating safety and training meetings, ensuring guidelines are followed, identifying job hazards, coordinating vendor training, and working with supervisors on new training and safety initiatives.
- Participates in Snow and Ice Events by preparing, operating, and cleaning various pieces of equipment and vehicles
Minimum:
- One year of training or education beyond a high school diploma
- 5-7 years’ experience
- Valid Class “B” CDL
- Ability to obtain tanker endorsement within 12 months of hire.
- Ability to obtain pesticide license within 12 months of hire.
- Valid Tanker Endorsement
- Valid Pesticide License
