North Star Community Credit Union is seeking an experienced, service-driven Retail Branch Manager to lead operations at our Minot AFB branch. Position Summary
The Retail Branch Manager is responsible for overseeing all branch operations to meet organizational, financial, and service goals. You will lead and develop branch staff, ensure operational excellence, and provide high-quality service across transactions, lending, and new accounts.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead daily branch operations and ensure performance meets established goals
- Hire, coach, train, and evaluate branch staff to build a motivated, high-performing team
- Monitor branch activity including transactions, loan volume, sales, and new accounts
- Schedule staff to ensure efficient and consistent service delivery
- Resolve complex member concerns and account issues
- Prepare and submit branch reports, budgets, and operational updates
- Ensure compliance with credit union policies, procedures, and regulations
- Underwrite and approve loans within assigned authority
- Promote a strong sales culture and coach employees on cross-selling opportunities
- Maintain branch security, safety, and internal controls
- Represent the branch in the community and foster relationships with local organizations
Qualifications
Experience
- 3–5 years of leadership experience in banking, credit union, or financial services
Education
- Associate degree OR equivalent combination of education, certifications, or specialized training
Skills & Abilities
- Strong leadership, coaching, and team development skills
- Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities
- Ability to drive results and promote a sales culture
- Professionalism, integrity, and strong problem-solving skills
Certifications & Requirements
- NMLS registration within 2 months of hire
- FiCEP certification and North Star Way completion within 6 months
- Insurance License within 9 months
