Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and experienced Mobile Phlebotomist to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for traveling to patients’ homes, nursing facilities, and other locations to collect blood specimens in a safe and professional manner. You will be travelling to upstate NewYork, Bronx, Manhattan, Queens, Brooklyn, Nassau County, and Suffolk County.
Duties
- Travel to patient locations to perform blood draws
- Verify patient identity and complete proper documentation
- Ensure proper labeling, handling, and transport of specimens
- Follow all safety and infection control procedures
- Maintain communication with the office regarding schedules and specimen status
- Perform venipuncture and blood sampling procedures accurately and efficiently at patient locations.
- Collect specimens following established laboratory procedures, ensuring proper labeling and handling.
- Obtain vital signs and assess patient condition to ensure safe specimen collection.
- Maintain strict adherence to aseptic techniques and infection control protocols during all procedures.
- Provide excellent patient service by explaining procedures clearly, addressing concerns, and ensuring comfort.
- Document all collection details accurately within the laboratory information system.
- Transport specimens securely to the laboratory while maintaining sample integrity during transit.
Requirements
- Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) preferred
- Minimum 5 years of phlebotomy experience (mobile experience a plus)
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
- Comfortable traveling within assigned area
- Ability to work independently
- Proven experience in phlebotomy, blood sampling, or clinical laboratory procedures.
- Knowledge of laboratory techniques, specimen processing, and physiology relevant to blood collection.
- Strong understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, and venipuncture techniques.
- Prior hospital or healthcare facility experience is preferred.
- Excellent patient care skills with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse populations.
- Ability to work independently in various mobile environments while adhering to safety standards.
