Patient Care
Assist the Respiratory Therapists with providing the following direct patient care outside of the critical care areas to assigned patients under supervision of Registered Respiratory Therapist:
Assist the Respiratory Therapists with providing the following direct patient care outside of the critical care areas to assigned patients under supervision of Registered Respiratory Therapist:
- Clean and set up equipment.
- Set-up and monitoring of low-flow oxygen (e.g., less than or equal to 6 LPM)
- Non-exotic Aerosol therapy (bronchodilators, anticholinergics, etc.)
- Hyperinflation and airway clearance therapy
- Assist in stocking and assembling supplies
- Perform Pulse Oximetry
- Assist in cardiorespiratory arrests, under direct supervision of the Respiratory Supervisor.
- Adheres to NMHS/NMMC Policies/Procedures/Guidelines
- Complies with applicable Local/State/Federal policies/procedures/guideline/regulations/laws/statues
- All other duties as assigned.
- High School Diploma or equivalent; required
- Be an active Respiratory Therapy student, completed the first year of Respiratory school and in their second year.
- CPR credentialed
- In good standing to complete Associates degree in Respiratory Care within nine months.
- Interaction with a patient population of all ages ranging from neonates to geriatrics; required
- Serves patient population categories of infants, pediatrics, adolescents, adults and geriatrics.
