Job Description:
North Middlesex Regional High School is seeking a Freshman/JV2 Girls Soccer Coach to help lead and develop the freshman and JV2 girls' soccer teams. The successful candidate will work under the guidance of the Head Coach to provide support and instruction, focusing on the development of basic soccer skills, team strategies, and individual growth. This role is ideal for a coach passionate about nurturing young athletes and creating a positive environment for personal and athletic development.
The Freshman/JV2 Girls Soccer Coach will assist in practice planning, game-day preparation, and fostering a supportive team culture that encourages sportsmanship, teamwork, and leadership.
Key Responsibilities:
Practice & Skill Development:
Assist in planning and conducting daily practices that focus on developing fundamental soccer skills, tactics, and team strategies.
Provide individual and group coaching to help players improve their technical and tactical abilities.
Emphasize teamwork, sportsmanship, and the importance of communication both on and off the field.
Game Day Preparation & Support:
Assist with organizing and preparing the team for games, including conducting warm-ups, player rotations, and game strategy.
Provide in-game feedback, helping the Head Coach make tactical decisions.
Support the team in maintaining focus and positivity during competition.
Team Supervision & Support:
Supervise athletes during practices, games, and other team events to ensure safety and adherence to team rules.
Help foster team bonding and a sense of camaraderie, ensuring each player feels included and supported.
Promote personal development, encouraging athletes to build leadership skills and strong character.
Communication & Collaboration:
Maintain open communication with the Head Coach, athletes, parents, and school staff regarding team progress and upcoming events.
Assist with organizing team logistics, including transportation, scheduling, and equipment management.
Collaborate with the Head Coach and other staff to ensure the smooth running of the freshman/JV2 girls soccer program.
Compliance & Safety:
Ensure all team activities, practices, and games comply with North Middlesex School District policies and MIAA regulations.
Promote safety and injury prevention during all team activities, following concussion management protocols.
Maintain necessary certifications, including Concussion Training (NFHS or CDC-approved), First Aid & CPR Certification, and CORI/SORI Background Check.

Required Qualifications:
Previous coaching experience or a strong understanding of soccer fundamentals and team strategies.
Ability to communicate effectively with student-athletes, parents, and school administration.
A passion for soccer and a commitment to helping athletes develop both on and off the field.
Strong leadership, organizational, and teamwork skills.
Must meet all district and MIAA coaching requirements.
Preferred Qualifications:
Previous playing or coaching experience at the high school or collegiate level.
Experience working with high school-aged athletes and an understanding of their developmental needs.
Ability to inspire and motivate players of varying skill levels.
Knowledge of injury prevention and soccer fitness techniques.
Salary:
Per NMRSD Coach Stipend Schedule.
