Job Description:
North Middlesex Regional High School is seeking a positive, energetic, and knowledgeable JV2 Girls Volleyball Coach to support the development of the girls volleyball program. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a passion for teaching fundamentals, developing student-athletes, and fostering a positive team culture rooted in education-based athletics.
The JV2 Girls Volleyball Coach will focus on skill development, teamwork, sportsmanship, and preparing athletes for advancement within the volleyball program. The coach will serve as a role model who promotes effort, accountability, discipline, and personal growth while helping student-athletes build confidence both on and off the court.
Key Responsibilities:
Athlete Development:
Teach and reinforce volleyball fundamentals including serving, passing, setting, hitting, blocking, defensive positioning, and communication.
Develop practice plans focused on skill progression, teamwork, and game understanding.
Support athletes in building confidence, leadership, and a strong work ethic.
Team & Program Support:
Create a positive, inclusive, and development-focused team culture.
Support the philosophy and expectations of the overall girls volleyball program.
Work collaboratively with varsity and sub-varsity coaching staff to ensure program consistency and athlete growth.
Practice & Game Management:
Organize and supervise practices in a structured and safe environment.
Coach and supervise games while emphasizing learning, effort, sportsmanship, and player development.
Monitor attendance, eligibility, and team expectations throughout the season.
Communication & Leadership:
Communicate effectively with athletes, families, coaches, and the Athletic Department.
Promote positive representation of North Middlesex Athletics through sportsmanship and professionalism.
Encourage accountability, teamwork, and leadership among student-athletes.
Academic Support:
Emphasize the importance of academics and positive school citizenship.
Support student-athletes in balancing academic and athletic responsibilities.
Compliance & Safety:
Ensure compliance with all MIAA, NFHS, and North Middlesex Regional School District policies and regulations.
Maintain a safe environment during practices and competitions.
Follow concussion management, hydration, and emergency protocols.
Required Certifications & Compliance:
Must maintain or complete required certifications including:
NFHS Fundamentals of Coaching
Concussion in Sports
First Aid & CPR
MIAA Coaching Education Program
CORI/SORI Background Checks
Qualifications:
Required Qualifications:
Previous volleyball playing and/or coaching experience.
Strong understanding of volleyball fundamentals and game strategy.
Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
Ability to positively connect with and motivate student-athletes.
Must meet all NFHS and MIAA coaching requirements.
Preferred Qualifications:
Previous coaching experience at the youth, middle school, or high school level.
Experience developing beginner and intermediate volleyball athletes.
Commitment to education-based athletics and student leadership development.
Ability to foster an inclusive and positive team environment.
Salary:
Per NMRSD Teacher Contract.
