Job Summary
Our busy medical practice seeks an experienced and knowledgeable Medical Assistant to assist our healthcare team. The successful applicant will be responsible for documenting accurate and detailed information on patient visits, intake, and medical history as well as assisting with procedures, scribing, stocking rooms, etc, for multiple providers. The ideal candidate will provide the HIGHEST quality customer service to patients and peers, adhere to practice protocols and processes, and effectively manage the volume of work without compromising quality. Essential Functions:
- Completes patient intake and medical history.
- Set up exam rooms for each visit, stocking rooms, clean instruments, etc.
- Works alongside a provider in the exam room to help complete templates in the electronic health record (EHR).
- Transcribes taped dictation of records and letters, and other material for physicians and physician extenders in a timely manner with a high degree of accuracy using word processing and dictation equipment.
- Check documents for errors, including dates and format.
Performance Requirements:
- A positive attitude and teamwork mentality are required.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and word processing software. Knowledge of medical transcription guidelines and practices, including legal responsibilities related to confidentiality.
- Skill in written and oral communication through positive and effective interactions with physicians and staff.
- Ability to concentrate and pay close attention to detail for extended periods of time.
- Ability to type 80 wpm from a tape using dictation equipment with accuracy.
- High School graduation or GED required.
- Hours: 8:00a-5:00p and 9:00a-close (rotation schedule)
- A minimum of 1 year of medical practice experience is required.
