Description & Details:
The Dickinson Research Extension Center (DREC) is hiring a motivated individual that will assist with various research projects in the Center’s Agronomy Department. The main focus of this position will be the collecting of data & observations for research on crop production systems in southwest North Dakota and working with small grains in a controlled environmental setting. The responsibilities will include assisting in the activities required for the successful execution of field-based agronomy demonstrations and trials to include note taking, data entry and other duties required to meet the project goals. Ideally, the candidates would start work as early as April 1 and work through mid-August or longer.
Work Schedule:
The regular work schedule is flexible, working Monday through Friday from 7:30am to 4:30pm. The hired candidate would work full time for 20 weeks and would need to reduce hours to 19.5 hours per week for the remaining weeks.
Advertised Pay:
Starting pay rate is $19.00 per hour.
Pay is based on several factors, including budget, labor market, prior experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and/or certification and other business considerations.
Minimum Qualifications:
- At least 18 years of age
- Possess a valid driver’s license
- Demonstrated computer skills & ability to work with Microsoft Word and Excel
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as a team member
- Complete a background check
Preferred Qualifications:
- Working toward a degree in crop science, agronomy or related fields
- Possess an interest in working with crops grown in southwest North Dakota
