What are the responsibilities and job description for the Falcon Academy Director (high school alternative program) position at North Country Union High School?
The North Country Union High School is seeking a dynamic and passionate individual committed to the development of character, competence, creativity and community in their role as program Director at their off-site alternative program, Falcon Academy. Our philosophy is that the North Country Union High School is responsible for serving the students of different cultural backgrounds from geographically large district. In light of the varied student backgrounds, the faculty and the curriculum will endeavor to stimulate the intellectual, social, physical personal potentials of each student. The development of a positive self-image and firm educational background will be achieved through broad exposure to various experiences of life with the direction and cooperation of a concerned faculty and supportive community. Students are encouraged to develop a positive attitude toward themselves and all students. In addition, students are encouraged to assume the responsibility for their own successes or failures. The students will also recognize the primary importance of maintaining respect for property and for the rights of others. Ultimately, the faculty and administration will strive to improve the quality of life at the school and in the communities served by North Country Union High School.
The preferred candidate must demonstrate competencies in staff and student management, developing and assessing programs services. Applicants should demonstrate evidence of experience in creatively supporting students with a wide range of needs and interests. They must strive to develop personal relationships with both students and colleagues to provide a collaborative community. Previous teaching experience required. This is a year-round position.
Licensure Requirements: Must have or be eligible for Vermont AOE administrator licensure.
Salary & Benefits: Salary based on experience. Benefits as determined by Board.
