The North Carolina Office of the State Auditor (OSA) is seeking a Staff Auditor II within our Performance Audit Division. This position serves as a professional auditor who is primarily responsible for assisting with various audits as a member of the audit team.
OSA is the state’s Fiscal Watchdog. We hold state government and entities that receive public money accountable, working on behalf of North Carolinians to eliminate waste, fraud, and abuse.

As part of our team, you will get to:
- Be involved in all aspects of audits conducted by the Performance Aduit Division
- Assist in the planning, preparation, and communication of audits
- Provide ideas for auditing testing techniques
- Help coach fellow auditors that are gaining experience
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities / Competencies
- Ability to interpret and apply knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles, technical and professional standards, such as Generally Accepted Government Auditing Standards and Generally Accepted Auditing Standards
- Ability to follow audit procedures as planned, and review the work for completeness and accuracy
- Demonstrates example for other team members in a manner by which tasks are completed, open to feedback and suggestions for improvement, and assists in technical supervision of lower-level auditors
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
A bachelor’s degree with 12 semester hours in accounting from an appropriately accredited institution and 2 years of experience in auditing/accounting or program evaluation
OR
An equivalent combination of education and experience

Pay: $58,613.00 - $102,574.00 per year
