Position Overview
Primary Purpose of Position
Core teachers provide foundational instruction in key academic subjects such as Math, English, Science, and Social Studies that align with high school and college-preparatory standards. Their role is essential in reinforcing critical academic skills, supporting student achievement, and preparing participants for success in future coursework. Through structured lesson planning, continuous assessment, and individualized support, core teachers help build students’ academic confidence while promoting a strong learning environment that upholds the values and goals of the Upward Bound program.
Primary Function of Organizational Unit
The TRIO Upward Bound Program is a federally funded initiative that provides academic support, college preparation, and personal development services to first-generation and low-income high school students, helping them succeed in high school and pursue postsecondary education.
Work Hours
Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm.
