Overview A Northbrook-based investment management firm is looking for a Director of Human Resources to serve as both a strategic and hands-on people leader. This person will partner closely with senior leadership to build and execute people strategies that support the firm's business goals, drive organizational effectiveness, and foster a high-performing culture. The Director will oversee one HR Generalist and manage external vendor and consultant relationships as needed.
What You'll Be Doing
- Partner with senior leadership on organizational design, workforce planning, and talent development strategies
- Serve as a trusted advisor to executives, using data and insights to identify trends, flag risks, and inform people decisions
- Own and continuously improve HR frameworks for performance management, career pathing, and goal setting
- Guide compensation planning and benefits strategy to attract, engage, and retain top talent
- Address employee relations matters with empathy, discretion, and sound business judgment
- Oversee HR compliance, policies, systems, and documentation to ensure operational excellence
- Supervise and develop the HR Generalist to support smooth execution of HR programs
- Manage relationships with external consultants and legal counsel for specialized needs such as investigations and compliance

- Exceptional communication and coaching skills with the ability to influence senior stakeholders

Salary : $110,000 - $130,000
