Norris Middle School is seeking a dedicated and student-centered individual to serve as a Special Education Teaching Assistant for the upcoming school year. This position supports students with diverse learning needs by assisting classroom teachers, supporting instructional activities, and helping create a safe, positive, and inclusive learning environment.
Position Responsibilities
- Assist special education teachers with daily instructional activities and classroom support
- Work with students individually and in small groups to reinforce academic and behavioral goals
- Support implementation of IEP accommodations and modifications
- Assist with classroom organization, supervision, and student monitoring
- Help maintain a positive and structured learning environment
- Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and support staff to meet student needs
- Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all student matters
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Experience working with children or students preferred
