Interim Math - Middle School

Norris Middle School is seeking a dedicated and student-centered educator to serve as an Interim 8th Grade Math Teacher through approximately October 2026. The ideal candidate will possess strong instructional skills, a positive attitude, and a commitment to supporting student growth and achievement in mathematics.

Position Responsibilities

• Provide daily instruction in 8th grade mathematics aligned to Tennessee academic standards
• Develop engaging lessons that promote critical thinking and student participation
• Utilize student data to monitor progress and guide instruction
• Maintain a structured, positive, and supportive classroom environment
• Communicate effectively with students, families, and staff
• Collaborate with grade-level and content-area teams to support instructional goals
• Perform additional duties as assigned by administration

Qualifications

• Valid Tennessee teaching license with appropriate endorsement preferred
• Candidates enrolled in an approved educator preparation program may also be considered
• Strong classroom management and communication skills
• Ability to build positive relationships with middle school students
• Knowledge of standards-based instruction and assessment practices preferred
