We are one of Florida’s leading critical document processing companies with a sister location in Las Vegas, Nevada. We are growing and seeking to add to our team in our West Coast Office we are looking for a Production Lettershop Mechanic.
The Print Production Systems Engineer is responsible for the optimization and support of our high-volume print production environments. The ideal candidate will have transactional print experience across multiple systems, including Ricoh, HP, Canon, Xerox, Konica Minolta, and others, and will be responsible for designing, editing, and maintaining workflows using Ricoh ProcessDirector (RPD). This role is critical for ensuring seamless print operations, color consistency, and G7 certification across our facilities.
The pay range for this role $85,000 . The actual salary offered is dependent on various factors including, but not limited to, location, the candidate’s combination of job-related knowledge, qualifications, skills, education, training, and experience.
Responsibilities
Workflow & Systems Administration
• Design, configure, and maintain print workflows using Ricoh ProcessDirector (RPD), including scripting (JavaScript, Shell Script) and conditional logic.
• Support and troubleshoot production software and hardware (Ricoh ProcessDirector, Ironsides, Canon Prisma, Fiery, Data Pac, Digital Manifest App, etc.).
• Apply RPD patches/upgrades and capture logs for troubleshooting.
• Administer RPD user groups, rights, and system configurations.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to define requirements, onboard new jobs, and optimize workflow solutions.
Print Production Operations
• Provide expert support for both cutsheet and continuous feed high-speed printers from multiple vendors.
• Manage job queues, resolve file failures, and ensure data integrity.
• Review production metrics, SLAs, and overall performance to drive operational excellence.
• Support operators and resolve workflow issues in real time.
Color Management & Quality Assurance
• Manage and maintain color profiles and consistency across different printer types (Ricoh, Riso, Canon, etc.).
• Lead efforts to achieve and maintain G7 certification at all print locations.
• Implement best practices for color calibration, profiling, and quality control.
Technical & Systems Support
• Support multiple OS platforms (Linux, Mac OS X, Windows).
• Configure server hardware for production, development, test, and backup environments.
• Use FTP, command prompt, and remote desktop tools for file transfer and system management.
Collaboration & Communication
• Work closely with business owners, operators, managers, and customer service reps to gather requirements and review workflow designs.
• Define and track onboarding plans for new jobs, adjusting as needed.
• Provide guidance and support to team members and operators.

Qualifications:Education & Experience Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field preferred; equivalent work experience considered.
• 3–5 years in production systems administration or transactional print operations, with hands-on experience using Ricoh ProcessDirector and high-speed print systems from multiple vendors.
• Proficiency in workflow automation, scripting (JavaScript, Shell Script), print management software, color management, and troubleshooting across diverse print platforms.
• Preferred: G7 Professional or Expert certification (or willingness to obtain); relevant vendor certifications (Ricoh, HP, Canon, Xerox, Konica Minolta) preferred.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills for both hardware and software issues.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical users.
• Proven ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
