Human Resources Generalist
Job Purpose:

The HR Generalist reports to the President and works in collaboration with the leadership team to direct the development, implementation, and coordination of policies and programs covering employment, wage and salary management, organization development, training, safety and health, benefits, and employee services. The HR Generalist initiates programs that lead to an engaged and retained workforce. Promotes employee well-being and accountability throughout the organization.
This role can be anywhere from 0.6-1.0 FTE depending on qualifications and interest of the candidate.
Responsibilities:
· Direct the interpretation and application of established human resource policies throughout the organization to ensure fair and consistent treatment of all employees. Review all human resource policies, programs, and practices to keep the organization up to date on current practices compliance requirements and changing regulatory requirements.
· Direct and coordinate various activities designed to promote and maintain a high level of employee engagement.
· Keep up to date on governmental regulations and reporting requirements affecting company policies and human resource practices to include EEO, OSHA, ERISA, and wage and hour regulations. Implement changes and develop policies to comply with these changes.
· Establish compensation policies and structures, and performance appraisal programs. Assure that the compensation program is competitive and equitable considering the organization's compensation philosophy.
· Exercise general supervision over the administration of the employee benefit program and the health and safety programs. Evaluate the cost of employee benefits in relation to employee needs and monitor the effectiveness of current health and safety programs.
· Participate in leadership team to plan and formulate the strategic direction of the company.
· Maintain overall supervision of the organization's recruitment, placement, retention and training programs and ensure compliance with Equal Employment Opportunity regulations.
· Responsible for budget performance and for initiating cost saving directives in the human resource department.
· Prepare and direct the preparation of various reports for management review to include HR metrics, headcount reports and budgets
· Prepare biweekly payroll run with assistance from Accounting Manager
· Serve as resource for performance management and accountability assisting leaders in managing their teams.
· Assist with ad hoc responsibilities such as report creation and analysis for sales and operations teams along with leadership team.
Minimum Qualifications:
· HR experience in manufacturing environment strongly preferred.
· Knowledge of state and federal employment laws and compliance
· Excellent communication and relationship skills
· OSHA and Safety Knowledge
· MS Office proficient
· Ability to maintain confidentiality and seen as a trusted resource.
· Demonstrated skills in recruiting and training employees.
· Attention to timelines and details.
· Approachable and visible to all employees
Preferred Qualifications:
· PHR/SPHR certification
· Payroll experience, particularly Paylocity HRIS
· Willingness to own general office duties (if role is full-time)
· Familiarity with Claude AI
