A growing real estate development firm in Austin is seeking a Development Associate with a strong construction background to support the execution of retail, mixed-use, and urban infill projects. This role will work closely with senior leaders on all phases of the development lifecycle, from site evaluation through construction and delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in managing day-to-day development activities across multiple retail, mixed-use, and urban infill projects
- Support construction oversight, including budget tracking, schedule coordination, RFI/CO review, and communication with contractors
- Conduct site evaluations, due diligence, feasibility analysis, and financial modeling
- Coordinate with architects, engineers, consultants, GC teams, and city officials throughout design and construction
- Prepare project reports, presentations, schedules, and internal updates
- Help monitor entitlements, permitting timelines, and compliance requirements
- Support project transitions from pre-development through construction and stabilization
Qualifications:
- 2–4 years of experience in real estate development, construction management, Civil Engineering or related field
- Strong construction knowledge — ability to read plans, understand schedules, and assist with field coordination
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills
- Proficiency in Excel and project management tools; exposure to financial modeling a plus
- Self-starter comfortable working in a collaborative, fast-paced environment
Salary: $95,000 - $120,000
