This role will be responsible for monitoring and ensuring the quality and safety of products throughout the production process, including pre-operational inspections, monitoring critical control points, and maintaining compliance with all quality standards.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities May Include
- Perform pre-operational inspections and report deficiencies.
- Monitor critical control points (CCP1B for Broth Cooking Temperature, HACCP CCP-2 for allergens) to ensure compliance with safety standards.
- Verify product allergen changeovers and perform allergen checks.
- Inspect magnets, X-ray machines, screens, and other equipment for functionality and safety.
- Perform scales calibration, thermometers calibration, and ensure accurate weight and volume measurements.
- Inspect production processes
- Verify correct materials, best before dates, and packaging conditions upon product changeovers.
- Ensure adherence to GMPs (Good Manufacturing Practices) and monitor sanitation standards in production areas.
- Inspect product formulations
- Perform other material inspections as needed.
- Pull samples for microbiology and chemistry analysis as per established frequency.
- Manage and report any out-of-specification products by placing them on QC hold and completing necessary documentation (Hold Initiation Forms).
- Assist R&D with product testing and support QA Management on special projects.
- Verify cleaning after maintenance repairs and ensure post-repair sanitation.
- Monitor finished goods.
- Inspect incoming materials for quality and integrity, including comparing to control samples, and ensure compliance with specifications.
- Perform sanitation and GMP monitoring in receiving, warehouse, and production areas.
- Maintain accurate records of raw material and packaging samples, testing, and other compliance documentation.
- Support and provide cross-departmental coverage as needed, depending on department staffing and operational requirements.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.
- Basic computer skills required.
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and HACCP principles preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow procedures accurately.
- Good communication skills and ability to work well within a team.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Previous experience in a related field preferred.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Stand, walk, and bend for extended periods.
- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, heat, and humidity.
- The position operates mostly in a manufacturing environment with occasional office work.
