Position Summary:
We are looking for a highly organized, communicative, and kitchen-savvy Expediter to join our team. The expo plays a crucial role in ensuring that food is presented accurately, beautifully, and timely—bridging the gap between the back of house and front of house teams. This position demands strong attention to detail, confident food knowledge, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure service environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Coordinate Ticket Flow:
- Manage incoming tickets with precision and pace, ensuring timing and pacing align with guest expectations and kitchen rhythm
Quality Control:
- Conduct final checks on every plate—taste-testing, inspecting for accuracy, presentation, and portioning before release
Communicate Proactively:
- Serve as the voice between kitchen and service teams, relaying updates, changes, and priorities with clarity and urgency
Maintain Station Organization:
- Keep the expo line clean, efficient, and fully stocked with plate ware, garnishes, and necessary tools throughout service
Stay Calm Under Pressure:
- Handle volume and intensity with grace and control, supporting the team with positivity and precision
Lead with Efficiency:
- Help guide food runners, coach service staff on dish components, and call out completed orders with accuracy
What We’re Looking For:
- Prior experience in a fast-paced kitchen, expo, or BOH coordination role
- Strong understanding of kitchen operations and food safety standards
- Ability to taste and assess a variety of foods for consistency and quality (must not have dietary restrictions that prevent this)
- Excellent verbal communication and a strong sense of urgency
- Highly organized and detail-oriented
- Punctual, reliable, and composed under stress
- Available to work early mornings, weekends, and holidays as needed
- Food Handler Certification (or ability to obtain upon hire)
