Duties
- Measure openings accurately to ensure proper fitment of windows and doors
- Install units securely, ensuring proper sealing with caulking for energy efficiency and weatherproofing
- Use hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and fabrication techniques to cut, shape, and assemble window frames, door frames, and related fixtures
- Perform heavy lifting of large or bulky window units and doors safely while adhering to safety protocols
- Hang doors and install hardware such as locks, handles, hinges, and fixtures with attention to detail
- Read blueprints and schematics to follow project specifications precisely during installation processes
- Apply mechanical knowledge for troubleshooting issues related to door mechanisms or window operation
- Complete caulking, sealing, and finishing work to ensure a polished appearance and durability of installations
- Collaborate with team members on construction site projects, ensuring timely completion while maintaining safety standards
Qualifications
- Proven experience in glass installation, door hanging, or related construction roles with a focus on window and door systems
- Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and fabrication techniques
- Ability to lift heavy materials safely and work at heights or in confined spaces as required
- Familiarity with locksmithing principles for lock installation or repair is a plus
- Construction site experience demonstrating safety awareness and teamwork skills
- Basic electrical experience for troubleshooting or installing electrical components related to doors or windows is advantageous
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail and quality workmanship
