About the role: We are searching for an experienced Sushi Chef to join our talented Sushi team and help prepare dishes according to our standard recipes. In this position, your goal will be to prepare high-quality meals that meet the Executive Chef’s exact specifications.
Responsibilities:
*Prepare components of each dish on the menu by slicing fish, preparing sushi rice, and assembling different types of sushi
*Collaborate with other departments – FOH and Kitchen
*Maintain cleanliness and comply with food sanitation requirements by properly handling food and ensuring correct storage
*Maintain complete knowledge of correct maintenance and use of equipment and safety standards
*Maintain and strictly abide by state sanitation/health regulations
Qualifications:
Our ideal Sushi Chef candidate will possess all of the following qualities to be considered:
*Open availability
*Dependable and punctual
*Thrives in a team environment and has the ability to work with different personalities
*Attention to detail
*Able to stand for long periods of time (8 hours)
*Able to walk up and down stairs
*Able to carry up to 50 lbs
*Able to push/pull/open doors
*Able to bend, squat and lean down
*Works well under pressure and can handle stressful situations
*Accuracy and speed in executing tasks
*In-depth knowledge of restaurant best practices and cooking methods
Preferred Experience:
*1 years’ experience in a high-end, fast-paced restaurant
