Job Summary:
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Behavior Intervention Specialist to join our team. This role involves providing professional support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in a residential setting. Responsibilities include supervising daily activities, implementing behavior support plans, assisting with personal care, maintaining clinical documentation, providing transportation, and promoting a safe, friendly, and structured environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and assist with daily living activities, recreational activities, and community outings.
- Implement behavior management strategies and provide first aid as needed.
- Maintain accurate clinical and medication records.
- Respond promptly to emergencies and report any incidents or suspected mistreatment immediately.
- Provide transportation and assist in maintaining household supplies and upkeep.
- Serve as an advocate for residents and promote independence and community involvement.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED (some college coursework in social or behavioral science preferred).
- Valid Alabama Driver’s License and ability to pass MRV check.
- Ability to pass a background check, drug screening, and TB skin test.
- Ability to work all shifts as needed.
- Excellent communication, supervision, and documentation skills.
- Maintain CPI, CPR, and First Aid certifications (training provided post-hire).
- Must complete required training within established timelines after hire.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working with individuals with intellectual disabilities or mental illness.
- Strong understanding of positive behavior supports and household management.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $11.00 - $12.50 per hour
