What you will do
- Lead and develop operators through training, coaching, daily huddles, and clear feedback.
- Deliver to schedule: balance manpower, adjust in real time, and meet delivery priorities.
- Uphold quality: enforce inspections and documentation; support automation.
- Control costs tied to production while safeguarding output and quality.
- Ensure precise ERP (IQMS or equivalent) usage for labor, scrap, downtime, lot and material traceability, labels, inventory moves, and work order status; turn data into action.
- Execute the plan and reallocate resources to handle changes.
- Monitor cycle times, scrap, downtime, and shift KPIs; drive adherence to plan.
- Coordinate with Technicians, Maintenance, and Planning to minimize delays.
- Confirm molding machines are set up and run per process documentation, job setup instructions, and approved work instructions.
- Apply documented startup, shutdown, and troubleshooting procedures—no shortcuts.
- Collaborate with Process Technicians and Engineering on process optimization and automation.
- Enforce in-process checks, visual inspections, and complete QC paperwork accurately.
- Audit operator performance, material handling, and documentation accuracy.
- Drive rework, containment, and corrective actions with Quality Control.
- Champion a safe workplace: PPE adherence, Lockout/Tagout, and incident/near-miss reporting.
- Maintain organized, clean work areas that meet company standards.
- 5 years in manufacturing and 3 years leading teams.
- Working knowledge of manufacturing processes, quality systems, and rework.
- Technical degree preferred or equivalent experience.
- Inventory and quality control experience preferred.
- Strong MS Excel/Word/Outlook skills; ERP experience preferred.
- Ability to stand/walk for the entire shift; lift up to 55 lbs; adequate vision and hearing for an industrial setting.
- Fluent in English (reading and writing).
- Must sign a confidentiality/non-compete agreement.
