About The Role
We are looking for a Director of Airfreight Operations & Procurement, USA to join our dynamic team at Noatum Logistics.The Director of Airfreight Operations & Procurement, USA is responsible for the Air procurement in in the US and is counterpart to the Country/Regional Head of Airfreight for implementation of new policies, adherence to core carrier usage, fulfillment of BSA and other policy related airfreight product. The Incumbent will give guidance to tender management for pricing based on the local market conditions within the USA. This position is responsible for developing and nurturing relationships with local & national airfreight vendors. The Director participates in monthly meetings updating the Team on new products, market trends and events. The incumbent will also participate in sales calls and discussions about new business opportunities, actively supporting sales with air product knowledge. The Director will organize internal workshops and participate in external events to educate operations, sales and customers on air products. This position will work closely with operations to ensure pricing, procurement and best practices to provide competitive rates while increasing gross margin and market penetration. The Director is responsible for optimizing and standardizing current operations in conjunction with Global and Regional Team.

Key Responsibilities
- Effectively communicate Air Freight strategy to Sales and Operations teams.
- Collaborate with Sales, Operations and Customers to ensure competitive airfreight solutions and secure new business.
- Maintain a thorough knowledge of global service offerings to educate and engage with customers and sales team.
- Utilize knowledge and train operators on TSA carrier regulations for airfreight and selecting carrier appropriate for transport.
- Build rates by using global operating system (CargoWise) and rate management software tools (Web Cargo).
- Support RFQ by partnering with Sales and Ocean teams and securing competitive airfreight pricing.
- Assist with air freight contracts, pricing and carrier management.
- Drive operational KPIs including on-time performance, transit time reliability and productivity.
- Train and ensure compliance with all relevant regulations (TSA, IATA, Customs, and security requirements)
- Develop and execute USA Airfreight procurement strategy across key airline partners.
- Negotiate competitive rate agreements, block space agreements (BSAs), and capacity commitments.
- Identify and execute cost optimization initiatives and operational efficiencies.
- Actively manage capacity allocations to ensure alignment with customer demand and market conditions.
- Build and strong relationship with airline partners and GSAs
- Monitor market dynamics (capacity, fuel, geopolitical impacts) to proactively adjust procurement strategies.
- Collaborate with global procurement teams to leverage global volumes and align to key carrier strategies.
- Comply with all necessary procedures to assure a clean, properly organized, safe and healthy environment for all personnel.
- Travel to vendor and customer sites when necessary.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 10 years freight forwarding experience, minimum 5 years in airfreight pricing &procurement experience. Competent math skills using units of currency, weight, volume, and distance measurements
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret transportation air tariffs.
- Knowledgeable in TSA carrier regulations and is a TSA approved user.
- Competency in PC, spreadsheets, and database applications (including Microsoft Office Suite).
- Demonstrated effective problem solving, interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
- Availability to travel to customer and vendor locations when needed.
- Experience with CargoWise and WebCargo.
- 15 years experience in Global Logistics, preferability in Air Freight management.
