What are the responsibilities and job description for the IT Systems Engineer / Field Technician position at Nmble Hiring Solutions?
**Please note: No C2C, third-party vendors, or sponsorship. Direct applicants only.**
A growing IT services company serving small and mid-sized businesses in the Charlotte area is hiring an experienced technician who's comfortable both in the field and on hands-on technical projects.
This is a mix of remote support and on-site work, so the day-to-day varies. You might be standing up servers, working on networking, handling a cloud migration, or supporting a client's infrastructure. If you like variety and don't want to run the same tickets every day, this is that kind of role.
You'll split your time between office-based support and visits to client sites for installations, troubleshooting, and project work across the Charlotte area.
What you'll do
- On-site and remote IT support
- Microsoft 365 and identity administration
- Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, and DHCP
- Network administration (switches, firewalls, VLANs, Wi-Fi)
- Workstation deployments and migrations
- Backup and disaster recovery
- Server and network installations
- Infrastructure projects for new and existing clients
What we're looking for
Solid experience across several of these:
- Windows Server
- Microsoft 365
- Networking (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs)
- Firewall and switch management
- Prior IT support, MSP, or help desk background
- Hardware troubleshooting
Nice to have: cloud platforms (Azure), scripting or automation (PowerShell, Python), and enterprise networking gear.
You'll do well here with strong troubleshooting skills, good client communication, and the ability to manage your own projects. Reliable transportation, a valid driver's license, and willingness to travel around Charlotte are required.
Why this role
You'll get exposure to a broad range of technologies and real project work, not just repetitive support. Good fit for someone who wants to keep growing their technical skillset.
