Position Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) to join our inpatient rehabilitation team. The COTA will work under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist to assist patients in improving their functional abilities, independence, and quality of life. This role involves implementing treatment plans, documenting patient progress, and collaborating with interdisciplinary healthcare teams.
Required Qualifications
- Active California Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) License
- Current BLS (Basic Life Support) Certification
- Minimum of 2 years of recent inpatient occupational therapy experience
- Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program
- Strong communication and patient-care skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced inpatient setting
Key Responsibilities
- Implement occupational therapy treatment plans developed by the supervising Occupational Therapist.
- Assist patients in improving activities of daily living (ADLs), mobility, strength, coordination, and functional independence.
- Monitor and document patient progress and response to treatment.
- Educate patients and caregivers regarding therapeutic exercises and adaptive techniques.
- Collaborate with physicians, therapists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to support patient recovery goals.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in accordance with facility and regulatory requirements.
- Ensure patient safety and adherence to infection control standards.
