Niyam is seeking a Research Analyst t to join our team. This position is remote, and will require the employee to live in a HUB zone. This position is for 10 hours a week. If you are looking for a few extra hours a week this may be the job for you.

 

Summary/objective

We are seeking a motivated, detail-oriented part-time CMMI and ISO Certification Assistant

to support our certifications and audit requirements.  This position is designed for a HUBZone-qualified candidate who will help ensure certification requirements are met and maintained. This role will involve working closely with our Quality Management and Project Management teams to collect, organize, review, and maintain documentation required for successful audits. The ideal candidate is highly organized, understands compliance requirements, and thrives in a process-driven environment.


This is an entry-level, flexible remote position (10 hours/week), ideal for someone looking to gain exposure to various certification processes and requirements.


Roles and Responsibilities

  • Assist with CMMI Level 3 and ISO 9001:2015/ISO 20000-1:2018 /ISO 27001:2022 audit preparation activities.
  • Collect, organize, and verify process documentation, meeting minutes, project artifacts, and compliance records.
  • Maintain an audit readiness repository in SharePoint, Confluence, or other company-approved platforms.
  • Conduct initial quality checks on documentation for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with standards.
  • Coordinate with project teams to gather missing artifacts or updates.
  • Support internal audit activities, including tracking action items and following up on corrective/preventive actions.
  • Maintain version control and ensure documents are updated and approved according to company processes.
  • Assist in process improvement initiatives by identifying gaps and suggesting updates to templates or procedures.
  • Participate in audit simulations and mock interviews to prepare staff for official assessments.
  • Generate periodic status reports on audit preparation progress for leadership review.


Physical demands

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.


Travel required

  • Less than 10%


Required education and experience

  • Associate’s degree or higher
  • Must reside in a designated HUBZone area (verification required).
  • Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and document management systems such as SharePoint or Confluence.
  • Ability to learn and follow CMMI and ISO documentation requirements quickly.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.



Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience with audit preparation in a CMMI or ISO-certified environment.
  • Familiarity with quality management systems and compliance documentation.
  • Experience supporting government contracts or federal compliance requirements.
  • Basic understanding of Agile or project management methodologies.

 

Work authorization/security clearance requirements

  • May work from any country that meets legal requirements, passes background checks, and maintains authorization to work. Must reside in a HUBZone-designated area (verification required).
