The Instructional Assistant provides academic and behavioral support to students individually, in small groups, or within whole-class settings, and assists teachers with classroom preparation and daily activities.This role is ideal for individuals who enjoy working with students, supporting educators, and contributing to a safe and supportive school community.Key ResponsibilitiesSupport classroom instruction under the direction of the teacher.Assist students with assignments, organization, and understanding directions or concepts.Help prepare instructional materials and classroom resources.Support positive student behavior and help maintain an orderly learning environment.Monitor student engagement and assist in keeping students on task.Read with or to students and support literacy activities.Perform basic clerical tasks such as record keeping, filing, copying, and material preparation.Communicate student progress and observations with teaching staff.Maintain strict confidentiality of student information.Assist during school activities, transitions, and emergency procedures as needed.Required QualificationsAssociate degree (AA) or higher OR72 quarter college credits ORPassing score on ParaPro or Pearson Paraprofessional Assessment.Ability to pass a criminal background check.Fluent in spoken and written English.Skills & AbilitiesBasic computer and email skills.Strong communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team.Ability to support diverse learners and work with a diverse school community.Basic math and literacy skills.Physical & Working ConditionsAbility to walk, stand, sit, bend, stoop, reach, and lift up to approximately 10 lbs. throughout the day.Work involves frequent movement around the classroom and school campus.Why Work With ISO Workforce AllianceISO Workforce Alliance partners with school districts nationwide to place high-quality education support professionals into meaningful school-based roles.
