Customs Entry Writer with FDA experience

Position Description: Working in a team office environment the Customs Entry Writer will perform a high

volume of customs clearance processes on key customs brokerage accounts, participate in a dedicated

customer effort with continuous challenge and be responsible for final delivery of customer cargo. This

position requires the individual to be experienced in general commodity and FDA experience required

Responsibilities/Essential Functions:

 High volume of FDA entries

 Responsible for daily entry review, data entry and classification of General Merchandise

 Entry documentation including 7501, 3461

 Remote Location Filing entries

 Provide necessary documents to other government Agencies if required

 Verify arrival information with Airlines/NVOCCs/ Steamship Lines

 Rate commercial invoice with tariff numbers based on our SOP

 Verify country of origin

 Submit payment and OBL to Steamship Lines, via FedEx or PayCargo

 Ensure terminals/warehouses/airlines have proper release

 Prepare delivery order, send to trucker, confirm receipt

 Prepare billing package and email invoice packets to clients

 Ensure that all entries are filed on time and freight delivered in a timely manner in accordance with

company and customer expectations.

 Provide superior customer service

 Upload entry packages to system

 Other duties as needed

Qualifications:

 Minimum of 1 year of Import Brokerage experience required

 Minimum High School diploma, AA Degree preferred

 Excellent verbal and written communication skills required

 Measurable experience with PC applications (MS Office)

 Solid data entry skills

 Must be familiar with rating freight invoices (buy/sell rates); communicating with overseas agents

 Understand basic supervisory approaches for work direction, motivation, and disciplinary action

 Attention to detail and commitment to error-free work

 Able to work in a fast paced/high volume environment.

 Experience with Cargowise a plus

 Ability to work fully paperless a plus
