Position Overview
The Nicholas Family of Companies is seeking a strategic and highly organized Proposal Manager to lead the development of winning proposals and qualifications packages across our construction businesses. This role will be responsible for managing the full lifecycle of pursuits—including RFQs, RFPs, Prequalifications, and Hard Bids—while elevating the quality, consistency, and effectiveness of our submissions.
The ideal candidate is an exceptional writer and researcher with a strong understanding of the construction industry, capable of translating complex technical information into compelling, client-focused narratives. This individual will also play a key role in shaping interview presentations, maintaining content libraries, and supporting broader business development initiatives.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the end-to-end proposal process for RFQs, RFPs, prequalifications, and competitive bids
- Develop compelling, tailored written content including project narratives, team qualifications, executive summaries, and technical responses
- Collaborate with operations, project managers, estimators, and leadership to gather and refine pursuit content
- Drive proposal strategy, messaging, and positioning to align with client goals and evaluation criteria
- Manage deadlines, schedules, and deliverables across multiple concurrent pursuits
- Oversee the design and production of proposals using Adobe InDesign, ensuring high-quality, visually cohesive submissions
- Develop and support interview presentations, including slide content, messaging, and rehearsal coordination
- Maintain and continuously improve a centralized content database (project sheets ,resumes, boilerplate, visuals)
- Support creation of business development toolkits, marketing collateral, and capability statements
- Conduct market and client research to inform pursuit strategy and content development
- Ensure consistency with brand standards and messaging across all submissions
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, Construction Management, or related field (or
- equivalent experience)
- 5–8 years of experience in proposal management, pursuits, or marketing within the construction or AEC industry
- Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills with strong attention to detail
- Advanced proficiency in Adobe InDesign (required)
- Strong research, storytelling, and content development capabilities
- Proven ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
- Experience leading cross-functional teams through complex pursuit processes
- High level of organization and project management skills
Salary : $85,000 - $90,000
