Overview
This role leads estimating efforts for complex commercial construction projects. The focus is on winning profitable work, managing risk, and building long term relationships with private developers, owners, and repeat clients. Projects range from mid size commercial facilities to large scale developments exceeding 100 million dollars.
Core Responsibilities
- Lead the pursuit of new commercial construction opportunities that align with company growth goals while managing risk.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with developers, owners, architects, engineers, construction managers, and subcontractors.
- Lead estimating efforts at the conceptual, schematic, and detailed design stages for commercial projects.
- Prepare bid packages, conduct scope reviews, analyze subcontractor proposals, and develop bid clarifications.
- Participate in bid days, complete risk analysis, and provide pricing strategy recommendations.
- Partner with Preconstruction and Operations teams to develop budgets, schedules, and bid strategies.
- Perform value engineering and constructability reviews to improve efficiency and cost certainty.
- Track market trends, labor availability, and material pricing to support accurate estimating.
- Support post bid reviews and lessons learned discussions.
- Utilize estimating software and digital takeoff tools to deliver accurate and timely bids.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field.
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office, Bluebeam, and digital takeoff tools such as On Screen Takeoff.
- LEED accreditation preferred but not required.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple bids and deadlines.
- Detail oriented with a strong commitment to quality.
- Comfortable working in a fully digital, paperless estimating environment.
Compensation and Benefits
- Base salary range: 150,000 to 180,000 dollars, depending on experience and qualifications.
