What are the responsibilities and job description for the CNC Machinist/Machine Operator position at Niantic Tool, Inc.?
Produces machined parts by setting up and operating CNC machines and manual machines; maintaining quality and safety standards; keeping records/time; maintaining equipment and work area.
- Experience preferred in set-up of CNC lathes and milling machines.
- Knowledge in use and application of precision measuring instruments, including calipers, ID and OD micrometers, depth gages, indicators and scales.
- Should have a strong understanding of blueprint reading /geometric tolerancing interpretation.
- Knowledge of tool holders, cutting tools, boring bars, fixtures, inserts and other accessories used on various machines.
- Must be able to follow written and oral instructions and be able to communicate in English as it relates to the job.
- Must possess basic math skills to include addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, geometry and algebra for the purposes of calculating material fabrication.
- CNC programming a plus.
- Past experience with Okuma, Dynapath and Proto Trak.
