What are the responsibilities and job description for the Locum Consultant in Community Perinatal Psychiatry position at NHS Ayrshire & Arran?
An exciting job opportunity to work as a fixed term 12 month locum (with possible extension) with NHS Lanarkshire’s Community Perinatal Mental Health Team (CPMHT), on a part time basis- fixed days, Thursday afternoon and Friday. The Community Perinatal Mental Health Team (CPMHT) is a Lanarkshire-wide community based service that enables multi-disciplinary professionals to provide an excellent standard of care for women of childbearing age with complex or severe mental health problems, and their families, in order that they experience positive pregnancies with healthy children.
The service works closely with other services including specialist midwives in perinatal mental health, obstetric colleagues, family nurse partnership, health visiting and primary care and admits patients to the West of Scotland Regional Mother and Baby Unit. There are good working relationships with allied services including maternity and neonatal psychological services and infant mental health services. This post holder will work alongside the current Perinatal Consultant Psychiatrist who is returning to the service part time to provide comprehensive psychiatry cover for the Lanarkshire wide Community Perinatal Mental Health Team. The post holder will be required to show leadership, and flexibility to work in a variety of community settings and contribute to maintaining and developing the service. The post holder will need to display an ability to apply a full range of pharmacological, psychological, skills and to demonstrate knowledge of interventions and physical treatment skills, good communication and team working skills.
The job is offered as a part-time post of 1.5 sessions, including time for supporting professional activity subject to confirmation and approval of the final job plan

Those who are or who will be involved in teaching our students, or in any other activity which involves a contribution to teaching, research or scholarship within the University are eligible for honorary status at the University of Glasgow.

They have access to all courses run by the IT Services on the same basis as members of staff and are also permitted an educational discount when PC equipment is purchased through the IT Services.
Both the North and South HSCPs have now been granted university status and have close links with Glasgow Caledonian University (GCU).
This is a full-time post; however, applications are also welcomed from candidates who may be interested in working on a part-time basis.
