Learning Disability Service

Applications are invited from clinical psychologists who are interested in working within a committed, dynamic and patient centred learning disability psychology service. The post holder will provide a highly specialist clinical psychology service to adults with a learning disability, neurodevelopmental needs and mental health difficulties. The post of permanent 0.8 WTE 8a Clinical Psychologist will involve working across multidisciplinary teams within Grampian including dedicated sessions to working within the Psychological Therapies service in HMP & YOI Grampian. The post will also involve supporting and developing teaching packages and pathways, as well as service evaluation and development of psychological therapy services for people with a learning disability and neurodevelopmental needs.

There is a team of qualified psychology staff working across Grampian within the community learning disability teams as well as a psychology team based within HMP & YOI Grampian. There are close links with the D Clin Psych/ Edinburgh University and the service routinely provides core and specialist placements for trainees completing this course. The service has an active CPD programme, supports practitioners’ clinical and research interests and there are opportunities for individual and group supervision.

Applications are invited from trainee clinical psychologists due to complete training within the next 12 months.
