We are hiring an Account Manager to own and grow our IT staffing relationships from our Chicago base. This is a relationship driven, expansion focused role for someone who is fearless about getting in front of hiring managers, earning their trust, and becoming the partner they call first when they need talent. You will deepen existing accounts, uncover new hiring needs across departments, and steadily grow the number of consultants we place.
Success in this role looks like a portfolio of hiring managers who see NextRow as an extension of their own team, and a placement footprint that grows meaningfully quarter over quarter.
• Own the relationship with assigned client accounts, serving as the primary point of contact for hiring managers and stakeholders.
• Proactively build relationships across departments and levels to uncover new and upcoming staffing needs.
• Grow the number of consultants placed within each account by expanding into new teams, functions, and projects.
• Translate hiring manager needs into clear role requirements and partner with recruiting to deliver qualified candidates quickly.
• Manage the full account lifecycle: intake, candidate submittals, interview coordination, offers, onboarding, and ongoing check ins.
• Conduct regular onsite and virtual meetings with clients to maintain visibility, gather feedback, and strengthen trust.
• Monitor consultant performance and satisfaction to protect and extend each engagement.
• Forecast account growth, track key metrics, and report on placement targets and pipeline.
• Negotiate rates, contracts, and renewals in partnership with leadership.
• Represent NextRow as a credible, technically conversant partner in every client interaction.
• Three or more years of experience in IT staffing, account management, or technical recruiting, with a track record of growing accounts.
• Fearless relationship builder who is comfortable initiating conversations, walking into rooms, and asking for the next opportunity.
• Strong IT and technical fluency, able to speak credibly with hiring managers about roles, skills, and technologies.
• Proven ability to expand a client relationship from a handful of placements into a large, multi team engagement.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
• Self directed and goal oriented, motivated by clear growth targets.
• Based in the Chicago area and able to meet clients onsite as needed.
• Experience managing large staff augmentation accounts with dozens of consultants.
• Existing network of IT hiring managers in the Chicago market.
• Familiarity with consulting, digital, or marketing technology environments.
• Experience with applicant tracking and CRM systems.
